"Spring Blossoms, Green Momentum in China-LAC Cooperation" | The First Technology Roadshow on Clean Energy, Energy Conservation and Green Low-Carbon Development Successfully Held by China-Latin America and the Caribbean Technology Transfer Center

To implement the Belt and Road Initiative, promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center, and respond to the national strategy of opening-up and the "dual carbon" goals, the first technology roadshow event titled "Spring Blossoms, Green Momentum in China-LAC Cooperation" was successfully held in Dongguan on March 20, 2025. The event was guided by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province and organized by the China-Latin America and the Caribbean Technology Transfer Center (hereinafter referred to as "CLTTC"). Shangguan Kai, Deputy Director the Construction of the "Going Global" Comprehensive Service Center for Chinese Enterprises, Guo Cunhai, Director of the Department of Social and Cultural Studies, Institute of Latin American Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Xu Ming, Executive Director of the Jiangmen Laboratory of Carbon Science and Technology, etc.

Chen Baiman, Executive Director of CLTTC, extended a warm welcome to all guests, emphasizing that as China's only national-level technology transfer institution dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean, the center will continue to build a platform for China-LAC technology resource connectivity, promote scientific and technological cooperation and commercialization of research outcomes, and deepen industrial collaborative development. In his speech, Shangguan Kai pointed out that this event was a concrete action to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and promote green and low-carbon development, as well as an important initiative to support Chinese enterprises in high-quality global expansion and deepen China-LAC economic and trade cooperation. He stated that the base would work with CLTTC to provide comprehensive support for enterprises, helping Chinese companies explore markets and optimize layouts in Latin America to achieve mutual benefits.

The first roadshow focused on key areas including clean energy, energy conservation, environmental protection and green low-carbon development, systematically showcasing high-quality technological projects from Chinese research institutions and enterprises in relevant fields. Through video recordings of the entire event and production of promotional materials, the roadshow leveraged multiple resource networks to conduct in-depth promotion in key Latin American countries and submitted special reports to relevant China-LAC departments, effectively enhancing the international influence of participating enterprises. The roadshow established an international exchange platform that precisely matched market demands in Latin America, promoted practical cooperation in China-LAC technology transfer, helped enterprises expand international channels and optimize regional market layouts, achieving dual enhancement of brand influence and technological competitiveness, thus laying a solid foundation for deepening China-LAC scientific and technological innovation cooperation.

During the event, representatives from Construction of the "Going Global" Comprehensive Service Center for Chinese Enterprises conducted policy briefings, systematically interpreting relevant policy support and service measures to provide multi-dimensional empowerment for China-LAC cooperation. Representatives from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area-Latin America Trade and Investment Advisory shared valuable practical experience through in-depth analysis of market opportunities, risk challenges and cross-border solutions in Latin America. Representatives from enterprises and institutions including Jiangmen Laboratory of Carbon Science and Technology, V1 Industrial Technology Co., Ltd., GP·Nano Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Wondfo Biotech Co., Ltd., and Guangdong CGC Energy Technology Co., Ltd. collectively demonstrated over ten innovative technological achievements and application scenarios in fields such as photovoltaic power generation, distributed energy storage, carbon dioxide fertilization, industrial wastewater treatment, seawater desalination, new energy vehicle manufacturing, green factories and waste-to-energy, providing new momentum for deepening China-LAC technological cooperation.

In the future, CLTTC will continue to leverage the advantages of its national-level platform to deepen China-LAC technological cooperation and promote innovation and application of green low-carbon technologies. By establishing regular exchange mechanisms, precisely matching superior resources, and accelerating the commercialization and implementation of technological achievements, the center will empower the building of a China-LAC community with a shared future in science and technology, and jointly write a new chapter in China-LAC cooperation.
