The China-LAC Technology Transfer Center and the Cuba Biopharmaceutical Group have entered a new phase of strategic collaboration to jointly foster innovation in the biopharmaceutical sector

On June 18, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center received a delegation led by Mr. Santiago Dueñas Carrera, Vice President of the Cuba Biopharmaceutical Group. The delegation included Ms. Zulaine Guerra Montané, General Manager of its Beijing Office, and Ms. Kalet León Monzón, Deputy Director of the Center of Molecular Immunology. Professor Huang Xiangxuan, a Visiting Professor at the Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, participated in the event as an academic expert. The delegation was welcomed by Executive Director Chen Baiman, Project Director Zhang Fanjing, and other key members of the Center's management team. The parties engaged in in-depth discussions concerning strategic cooperation in the field of biomedicine.

Accompanied by Director Chen Baiman, the delegation toured the Center's exhibition hall, gaining a comprehensive overview of its development history, organizational structure, and business portfolio. During the subsequent symposium, Director Chen delivered a systematic presentation on the Center's innovative practices in technology transfer and commercialization, with a particular emphasis on its collaborative strategy for the biomedicine sector. Representatives from the Cuba Biopharmaceutical Group shared insights into the Group's achievements in China and the latest advancements in its cutting-edge biotech R&D, expressing a strong desire to establish in-depth collaborative relations with both the Center and the Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School. From an academic standpoint, Professor Huang Xiangxuan provided a thorough analysis and expressed full endorsement of the proposed collaboration, pledging her full support for the synergistic development of all parties in the field of biomedical innovation.

The meeting yielded fruitful outcomes, significantly solidifying the strategic consensus between the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center and the Cuba Biopharmaceutical Group in the biomedical field and laying a solid foundation for expanding comprehensive, multi-level cooperation across various domains in the future. The Center will fully leverage the resource advantages of its national-level technology transfer platform to actively promote technical exchanges and innovative collaboration in biomedicine between China and Latin America, working hand in hand with all parties to forge a new paradigm for international scientific and technological cooperation.
