On April 27, the Council of the Latin American Society of China General Meeting was held in Beijing. More than 190 members from scientific research institutions, universities, enterprises, and institutions studying Latin America and the Caribbean attended the meeting. Shi Zuoyu, Deputy Director of the Office of the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center (CLTTC), and Zhang Fanjing and Yu Tianzuo, the project supervisors of CLTTC, were invited to attend the meeting.

Election of the Council of the Latin American Society of China at the present Conference. After the election, Mr. Chai Yu, Director of the Institute of Latin American Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, was elected President of the 9th session of CALA. At the same time, 12 vice presidents, part-time secretaries-general, deputy secretaries-general, executive directors, councilors, executive directors, and councilors were elected, including Mr. Wang Rongjun. At the conference, the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center was elected as the governing unit of the China Latin American Society.

After the meeting, China-Latin America Technology Transfer Centerrepresentatives of  discussed with many experts of the Society how to enhance the friendship between China and Latin America and promote mutually beneficial cooperation among all parties. It is expected that the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center and the Council of the Latin American Society of China will open a new chapter of cooperation in many fields and inject a constant power for the high-quality development of China-Latin America cooperation with a more open attitude and more influential actions.
