From September 2nd to 4th, Minister of Science and Technology Yin Héijun led a delegation to visit Mexico. On September 4th, Yin Héijun and Rosaura Ruiz Gutiérrez, the Minister of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation of Mexico, jointly presided over the 9th meeting of the Science and Technology Subcommittee of the China-Mexico Inter-Governmental Standing Committee. During the meeting, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics such as coordinated policy alignment for scientific and technological innovation, the implementation of joint research projects, mutual visits and exchanges of academic talents, and practical cooperation in key areas, and reached multiple cooperation agreements.

Yin Junchun pointed out in his speech that China and Mexico should further improve the mechanism for scientific and technological innovation cooperation, focusing on areas such as new energy, electric vehicles, robots, marine disaster prevention and mitigation, artificial intelligence, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. They should continuously deepen talent exchanges and practical scientific and technological cooperation. They should also establish and utilize cooperation platforms such as the CLTTC, and fully leverage their role as a bridge and link in gathering scientific and technological resources between China and Latin America, promoting technology transfer and achievement transformation, and facilitating the connection and cooperation between research institutions and enterprises.

The Center, as one of the Chinese representative units, attended this conference. Focusing on key cooperation directions such as robot technology, marine meteorological monitoring and extreme event warning, it introduced the existing technical foundation, cooperation resource endowment, and the working ideas for technology transfer and promoting collaborative innovation in Mexico. Taking this conference as an opportunity, CLTTC will further implement the meeting's spirit, continuously strengthen the cross-regional connection of scientific and technological resources, solidify and enhance the core functions of the technology transfer platform, and provide strong support for promoting in-depth and practical scientific and technological cooperation between China and Mexico. Other participating units at the meeting included the Ministry of Water Resources, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Department, Peking University, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as well as representatives from relevant Mexican government departments, research institutions, universities, and enterprises.
