On August 14th, a symposium marking the 70th anniversary of the Guangdong Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was successfully held in Guangzhou. CLTTC was invited to attend. Hosted by Chen Guangjun, Vice President of the Provincial Association, the event featured a special work report by Ma Wenfeng, President of the Association. The report systematically reviewed the Association's seven-decade journey of deepening people-to-people diplomacy, summarized key achievements in international cultural exchanges and cross-border economic and trade cooperation, and, in light of the new era's development needs, outlined novel perspectives and practical measures for advancing people-to-people friendship and international cooperation.

Conference venue

The conference brought together representatives from various council members, overseas friendly individuals, and group member units. Attendees engaged in exchanges and discussions on core topics such as empowering opening-up through people-to-people diplomacy, upgrading foreign-related economic and trade cooperation, and enhancing connectivity between Chinese and foreign enterprises. They shared practical experiences and collaborative ideas, offering advice and suggestions for the high-quality development of Guangdong Province's foreign friendship endeavors.

As an important platform for China-Latin America science and technology cooperation, the CLTTC will take this symposium as an opportunity, leveraging the advantages of the provincial Friendship Association's external exchange platform to deepen the connection and exchange of China-foreign science and technology resources. This will help Guangdong expand the dimensions of its external friendly cooperation and empower the coordinated development of local people-to-people diplomacy and science and technology opening-up.
