On 23 June, the announcement ceremony for the selected projects of the 3rd "New Era, New Images" China-Foreign Joint Creation Program was held in Shanghai. The micro-documentary "Chasing Dreams Across 30,000 Miles," submitted by the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center as part of the first "Latin American Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program” (hereinafter referred to as the "Youth Innovation Camp”), stood out from over 10,000 entries worldwide and was successfully selected for this national-level film creation and exchange program. Rooted in the practical cooperation between Chinese and Latin American youth in science and technology innovation, the film innovatively presents China's vibrant scientific and technological dynamism and unique cultural charm from the perspective of Latin American youth. It represents a practical achievement in serving the country's high-level opening-up and empowering the construction of Chinese-Style Modernization. Rigorous Selection by an Authoritative Platform, with International Communication Achievements Receiving High-Level Recognition

This year's creative program is guided by the State Council Information Office, the Cyberspace Administration of China and the National Radio and Television Administration, and is jointly organized by China International Communications Group, the Film, Television and Documentary Center of China Media Group, and Discovery Channel. It is calling for submissions across six categories, including the "Scientific and Technological Innovation and Future Vision" and "Exchange and Mutual Learning among Civilizations" categories, and serves as a key national platform for telling China's stories well and conveying China's voice to the world.

As a key project on the Action Plan list of the Ministerial Conference on Dialogue among World Civilizations, this call for entries covered 46 countries worldwide and received a total of 13,612 audiovisual works of various kinds. Ultimately, 160 projects were selected, representing an overall acceptance rate of just 1.12%. "Chasing Dreams Across 30,000 miles" was successfully selected for the "Scientific and Technological Innovation and Future Vision" section, serving as a powerful demonstration of the positive outcomes achieved by the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center in innovating its international communication narrative model. This will further promote the global dissemination of China's scientific and technological innovation stories.

Documentary Images Capture a New Chapter in Science and Technology Exchange, Supporting the Enhancement of China’s Science and Technology Diplomacy

Drawing inspiration from the first "Latin America Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program", “Chasing Dreams Across 30,000 Miles" recounts the experiences and reflections of young women from Latin America who came to China to participate in the program through their own narratives, serving as a visual medium that showcases the positive momentum of scientific and technological collaboration and cultural integration between China and Latin America.

As a key component of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center's portfolio of flagship events, the inaugural "Youth Innovation Camp" adopted a model combining an "online cloud-based innovation and entrepreneurship training camp" with an "offline Innovation China Tour". It brought together 14 young science and technology talents from nine Latin American countries, including Argentina and Brazil, for a 15-day program of in-depth scientific and technological innovation training, research and exchanges across 5 locations in China, thereby building bridges to foster people-to-people bonds, knowledge sharing and practical cooperation.

In the future, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center will further innovate its international communication narrative models, using more impactful creative content to support China's high-level opening-up. At the same time, it will continue to deepen the development of its branded event system, extensively collaborating with science and technology innovation partners across China and Latin America to help consolidate the foundations of people-to-people bonds between the two regions and inject new momentum into building a community with a shared future for mankind.
