On April 28, the opening ceremony of "Spanning Three Centuries: A Photographic Exhibition on the History of Chinese Immigration in Yucatán, Mexico" was held at the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Museum in Guangzhou. The event was hosted by the Consulate General of Mexico in Guangzhou as part of the series of commemorative activities for the 20th anniversary of its establishment, aiming to create a platform for people-to-people exchanges and historical dialogue between China and Mexico, and to foster friendship and emotional mutual trust between the two peoples. Yao Fang, Deputy Director of the Office Administration of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, and Wu Leping, Publicity Director of China-LAC Technology Transfer Center were invited to attend the event.
The exhibition focuses on the migration journeys of multiple groups of Chinese immigrants to the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico between the 19th and 20th centuries, vividly presenting the 300-year history of exchanges between China and Mexico, and showcasing the deeds of Chinese immigrants who integrated into local society and contributed to its economic, social, and cultural development. At the opening ceremony, Daniel Dominguez, Acting Consul General of the Consulate General of Mexico in Guangzhou, noted that Guangdong Province has established sister-state/province relations with relevant Mexican states, which fully reflects the breadth and depth of bilateral relations. He emphasized that the exchanges and connections between the peoples of China and Mexico have a long history and will continue to deepen through mutual understanding and friendly cooperation.

Through this event, representatives of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center gained a deeper understanding of the diverse cultural exchange history between China and Mexico, laying a solid foundation of trust for strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanges. Moving forward, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center will, on the basis of enhanced mutual trust, continue to deepen communication and collaboration with all parties from China and Mexico, including the Consulate General of Mexico in Guangzhou, actively promote the solid and profound advancement of technology transfer and industrial cooperation, and concretely contribute to the heart-to-heart connectivity between the Chinese and Mexican people as well as the quality and efficiency improvement of scientific innovation cooperation.
