CLTTC visited Mexico for scientific andtechnological exchange activities

On the morning of July 24th, local time, led by the Dongguan science and technology delegation, China-LAC Technology Transfer Center (CLTTC)  successfully held a matchmaking and exchange event in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. Shi Zuoyu, Deputy Director of CLTTC Office, Ma Jinhui, Secretary-General of Guangdong China-LAC Technology Cooperation Association., and Yuan Jiaxin, Council Member of Technology Innovation Cooperation Center and other delegation members to attend the event. The event aimed to strengthen scientific and technological exchanges as well as economic and trade cooperation between China and Latin America.

Dongguan delegation included relevant officials from the Dongguan Municipal Government, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau, the Management Committee of Binhaiwan New Area, and the Dongkeng People's Government. On the Mexican side, over 40 attendees included political figures such as former Ambassador to China José Bernal and Senator Cora C. Pinedo Alonso, as well as representatives from Vazquez Tercero y Zepeda Law Firm, the Greater Bay Area and Latin America Investment and Trade Center, and other enterprises.

Dongguan delegation introduced the economic development and technological innovation environment of Dongguan, expressing the hope that this visit to Mexico would enhance mutual understanding between Mexico City and Dongguan, creating a solid foundation for future scientific, technological, economic, and trade cooperation between the two sides. The Municipal Science and Technology Bureau presented the technological innovation situation in Dongguan, while the Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau shared the experience of medical resource sharing between large medical institutions and community clinics in Dongguan and Guangdong Province. Representatives from Binhaiwan New Area and Dongkeng Town respectively promoted their respective innovation and entrepreneurship as well as investment environments. Both sides engaged in lively exchanges on topics such as scientific and technological innovation, enterprise investment, public education, and the development of the medical system.

During the event, Shi Zuoyu, Deputy Director of CLTTC Office, provided a detailed introduction of the development plan and work priorities of the CLTTC, presenting the potential and development vision as a national-level technology transfer platform. During the event, witnessed by Mexico's former ambassador to China, senators, congressmen, and Deputy Director Lin Gang of the Dongguan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the CLTTC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Greater Bay Area and Latin America Investment and Trade Center, marking a substantial step forward in cooperation between the two parties.

The delegation also visited the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), receiving a warm reception from the university's senior leadership. Patricia Alatorre, Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs, and Lizbeth Campos, Deputy Director of the Asian Liaison Department, attended the reception ceremony, and both sides engaged in friendly exchanges. As the largest comprehensive university in Mexico and even Latin America, UNAM enjoys a high reputation in the international academic community.

The joint doctoral training program conducted by Dongguan University of Technology and UNAM adopts a dual-university and dual-mentor model, recruiting students globally. The program aims to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in education and scientific research, providing high-quality academic training for global students.

Dongguan-Mexico science and technology exchange event not only deepened mutual understanding between the two sides but also laid the foundation for future cooperation, representing an important measure for China and Mexico to deepen their strategic partnership and seek common development. With the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between CLTTC and the Greater Bay Area Investment and Trade Center, expecting that both sides will engage in deeper cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, enterprise investment, educational cooperation, and the medical system, bringing more tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
