On January 3, 2025, the Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau successfully held the "2025 Dongguan Spring Festival Greeting Symposium for Foreign High-End Talents" at the Songshan Lake International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community. This event provided a platform for cultural exchange and intellectual collision between Chinese and foreign experts and scholars, fostering collaboration and friendship among them, with a strong festive atmosphere on-site.
Zhong Jingping, Deputy Director of Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau; Zhang Yuan, Director of department of Technology Cooperation and Introduction of Intelligence Management, Cui Zhicheng, Director of the Science and Technology Talent Service Center；Cao Jiang, Deputy Director of the Talent Section II of the Municipal Organization Department; Chen Baiman, Executive Director of China-Latin America and the Caribbean Technology Transfer Center, along with over 30 foreign experts and scholars from institutions such as the Great Bay University, Dongguan University of Technology, Guangdong University of Science and Technology, China Spallation Neutron Source Laboratory, the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, Green Mind Sustainability Co., Ltd., and CMKC (Dongguan) Co., Ltd., attended the grand event. Foreign experts and scholars from 11 countries, including Pakistan, Brazil, Japan, the United States, and Greece, shared their perspectives on relevant topics, fully demonstrating a harmonious and friendly atmosphere of diversified exchange. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as Dongguan's scientific and technological innovation development and future international sci-tech exchange and cooperation, laying a solid foundation for further deepening collaboration.
In his speech at the Spring Festival event, Deputy Director Zhong Jingping of the Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau extended sincere New Year greetings and a warm welcome to the foreign experts working in Dongguan. He expressed his sincere hope that the Spring Festival Greeting Symposium would further enhance Sino-foreign friendship, strengthen cooperative exchanges, promote cultural understanding and integration, and improve the sense of belonging and integration of international talents in Dongguan, all while welcoming the arrival of 2025 in a joyful, harmonious, and festive atmosphere.
During the event, foreign experts participated in a variety of traditional cultural activities, such as lacquer fan making, calligraphy blessing card writing, Lunar New Year flower bucket arrangement, Latin American coffee tasting and latte art, and Hanfu experience. They personally experienced the unique charm of the Chinese Spring Festival and the profound depth of traditional Chinese culture, immersing themselves in the beauty of Chinese attire and welcoming the dawn of the new year together.
Additionally, the attendees visited the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center. Representatives of the center introduced the background, current development, and achievements of the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center, and the foreign experts expressed strong interest in the center's future collaborative projects. As China-Latin America cooperation grows increasingly closer, the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with enterprises, universities, and research institutions in China and Latin America, integrate high-quality resources, fully leverage its advantages, and further advance the deepening and solidification of sci-tech innovation and technology transfer cooperation between China and Latin America.
