On March 13, to enhance synergy in science and technology cooperation with Latin America and broaden cooperation channels with Latin American and Portuguese-speaking countries, Yao Zeyi, Project Director of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, and Lai Jianda, Operation Manager of the China-Latin America and the Caribbean Trading Platform, led a delegation to the China-Portuguese (Spanish)-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Service Center for business exchanges. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on strengthening China-Latin America science, technology, economic and trade cooperation, seeking new opportunities for mutual benefit and win-win results.

During the exchanges, both parties introduced the construction achievements and development plans of their respective platforms in serving the overall national diplomatic landscape, and conducted in-depth discussions on the future cooperation direction, initially forming a number of cooperation ideas and plans: Firstly, co-build an innovation base, integrate the "Latin American Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program" of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center with the entrepreneurship incubation resources of the China-Portuguese (Spanish)-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Service Center to provide an innovation platform for young people from China and Latin America. Secondly, expand market channels in Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking countries, and jointly develop business cooperation in key countries such as Brazil by relying on the policy advantages of the Zhuhai Hengqin Free Trade Zone and the resource connection advantages of Macao with Portuguese-speaking countries. Thirdly, jointly carry out science and technology and trade activities, gather diverse entities such as governments, enterprises and universities, and co-host roadshows, expos, training courses and other events. Fourthly, jointly apply for special science and technology cooperation projects, sort out the common needs of China, Latin American and Portuguese-speaking countries in green and low-carbon and other fields, jointly apply for international science and technology cooperation projects, and promote the joint R&D and industrialization of China-Latin America technologies.

Strengthening collaborative cooperation with domestic institutions engaged in Latin America-related work is a key path for the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center to give play to the leading role of a national-level platform and achieve accurate docking between international network advantages and domestic technological needs. The China-LAC Technology Transfer Center will continue to uphold an open and cooperative attitude, actively link up with various partners such as the China-Portuguese (Spanish)-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Service Center, jointly build a more efficient international technology transfer and economic and trade cooperation network, and push China-Latin America science, technology, economic and trade cooperation to go deeper and more solid.
