On May 10, the inauguration reception for the Consulate General of Uruguay in Hong Kong and Macau was held in the presence of His Excellency Mario Lubetkin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay. The event marked the official establishment of Uruguay's fifth diplomatic mission in China. Zhang Fanjing, Project Manager of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center (CLTTC), attended the event on behalf of the Center and held friendly exchanges with diplomatic envoys from Uruguay and other countries.

At present, the CLTTC is expediting the preparation of the China-Uruguay Innovation Cooperation Center and plans to carry out a field visit to Uruguay in June. The visit will focus on promoting practical cooperation between Chinese and Uruguayan enterprises, research institutes, and universities in areas such as technology transfer and joint research and development, aiming to elevate bilateral cooperation in science and technology innovation to a higher level.

As a key bridge of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center, the CLTTC will fully leverage the geographical advantages of the Consulate General of Uruguay in Hong Kong to deepen the alignment of innovation resources between China and Uruguay and promote high-quality development of bilateral relations.
