CLTTC participated in the 1st China-Latin America and Caribbean Development Forum

From August 27th to 28th, the First Foro de Desarrollo de China-América Latina y el Caribe Forum was held in Beijing. The forum invited envoys, officials, experts, and scholars from Latin American countries and international organizations to engage in in-depth exchanges on topics such as China-Latin America trade, international development cooperation, energy investment, infrastructure investment, and industrial sector investment. Wang Ping, Executive Director of the Latin American Research Institute, China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, attended the event.

This forum was jointly organized by the Latin American Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Latin American Economic System, aiming to create a new exchange platform between China and Latin America, strengthen think tank and academic exchanges, jointly explore the future prospects of China-Latin America modernization development, and promote stable and long-term China-Latin America relations.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Gao Xiang, President of CASS, pointed out that this year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's proposal to build a China-Latin America community with a shared future. Over past decade, the construction of the China-Latin America community with a shared future has achieved fruitful results, with an expanding partnership network and increasingly close development strategy alignment, conveying in a new era of China-Latin America relations characterized by equality, mutual benefit, innovation, openness, and benefiting the people. In the future, both sides should further adhere to multilateralism, improve global governance, and contribute the "China-Latin America force" to promoting an equal and orderly multi-polarization of the world and inclusive economic globalization benefiting all.

In order to actively respond to Chin’s the Belt and Road Initiative, Latin American Research Institute, China-LAC Technology Transfer Center will make full use of  educational, technological, and talent resource attraction effects of the center to comprehensively serve the international innovation and development of China's education, science, and technology, as well as talent cultivation, jointly creating a favorable atmosphere for pragmatic cooperation between China and Latin America.
