In today's world, technology and innovation are constantly reshaping the global cooperation landscape, a delegation from Guangdong Province and the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center (CLTTC) traveled to Uruguay on July 24, embarking on a visit aimed at deepening bilateral scientific and technological cooperation. The delegation was led by Gong Guoping, Secretary of the Party Committee of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, icluding Hu Qinhua, Chairman of the Dongguan Technology Innovation Cooperation Center, and Yu Tianzuo, Project Manager of the CLTTC.
During the visit, the delegation conducted in-depth exchanges with the Innovation and Technology Division of the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture, exploring new models and opportunities for further strengthening bilateral scientific and technological cooperation. Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in areas such as energy transition, food safety, and biomedicine, guided by the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center, and relying on platforms such as Hengqin, Qianhai, Nansha, and Hetao.

The delegation visited the Uruguayan National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA) and had in-depth exchanges with Ing. Agr. José Bonica Henderson, Chairman of the Board, on agricultural and livestock development and technological innovation in agricultural product processing. They expressed their hope to promote joint research and development, scientist exchanges and visits, talent cultivation, and other cooperation between INIA and Guangdong Province in the agricultural sector, coordinating resources from both sides to carry out scientific research innovation and technology transfer projects, and promoting sustainable development in agriculture and animal husbandry.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in Uruguay and was warmly received by Huang Yazhong, Ambassador of China to Uruguay, and An Ziye, First Secretary. Ambassador Huang Yazhong stated that the embassy will fully support the scientific and technological cooperation between Guangdong Province and Uruguay, promoting mutual benefit and win-win results in multiple fields.

After the visit, both sides expressed their willingness to explore new cooperation models with an open mindset and positive attitude, jointly promoting scientific and technological innovation cooperation and injecting new impetus into scientific and technological innovation and economic development in both regions. As the only national-level cross-border technology transfer institution in China facing Latin American and Caribbean countries, the CLTTC will also vigorously promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological innovation achievements between the two sides, facilitating the sustainable development of the China-Latin America comprehensive partnership for cooperation.
