On March 22, 2024, Chen Baiman, Director of the Office of China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center (CLTTC), Shi Zuoyu, Deputy Director of CLTTC, and representatives of the cooperating law firms visited the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA). Representatives of all parties discussed the core issues of building a China-Latin America International Intellectual Property Center, resolving intellectual property disputes between Chinese and Latin American enterprises, and providing arbitration and mediation services.

Founded in 1983, SCIA is the first arbitration institution in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It has created several firsts in the development of China's international arbitration. It has built several professional service platforms, including the High-Tech and Intellectual Property Rights Arbitration Center, the China-Africa Joint Arbitration (Shenzhen) Center, the North American Trial Center, etc. It has accumulated rich practical experience in dealing with arbitration cases involving the Latin American region.

Next, the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center plans to designate the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court (SIAC) as the arbitration institution in the relevant contract terms. Both parties will draw up new development and cooperation plans to strengthen business cooperation in technology transfer, intellectual property protection, and international commercial disputes between China and Latin America, promote the construction of a global business environment for high-quality enterprises, and jointly help lead China-Latin America economic and trade cooperation to a new stage.
