Recently, the China Science and Technology Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the approval results of the first batch of the "International Young Scientists Program for Developing Countries" (referred to as the "International Young Scholars Program") for the year 2026. The project of the International Young Scholars Program for 2026 submitted by the CLTTC was successfully approved. As one of the units in Guangdong Province that were approved for this national-level key project, the CLTTC is also the only core unit in Dongguan City that has been approved for this project in recent years.

It is known that the International Young Scholars Program was initiated by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China in 2013 as an international science and technology cooperation project, which is part of the the new era "China-Latin America and Caribbean Countries (LAC) Science and Technology Partnership Program" and aims to promote international science and technology openness, deepen international scientific and technological talent exchanges, implement the "Belt and Road Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Action Plan", serve the overall diplomacy of the country, and create an open and innovative environment with global competitiveness.

As the only national core platform for cross-border technology transfer in China exclusively targeting Latin America and the Caribbean region, this approval further consolidates the exclusive core functions of the center and fills the gap in domestic exclusive platforms for targeted scientific and technological cooperation between China and Latin America. CLTTC will take this project as an opportunity to deepen the two-way exchange of international young scientific and technological talents, continuously expand the cross-border scientific research cooperation network, promote technological exchanges and mutual learning, and contribute greater core strength to consolidating the scientific and technological partnership between China and Latin America and helping to build a China-Latin America Community of Shared Destiny.
