From May 22 to 30, Chen Baiman, Director of the Office and Yu Tianzuo, Project Manager of CLTTC,, visited Santa Elena Peninsula State University (SEPU), the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ecuador, the University of Havana, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Cuba, and the Cuban Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Group.

Through this visit, the Center has effectively expanded its network of high-quality international partners and reached a number of consensus on the deepening of practical cooperation in the fields of personnel exchanges, scientific research, and results transfer.

During the visit to Ecuador, the Center signed a letter of intent cooperation with Santa Elena Peninsula State University to improve the development and utilization of marine resources and promote the upgrading of marine industry through technological innovation.

The Center also visited the Chinese Embassy in Ecuador, where Ambassador Chen Guoyou encouraged the Center to expand cooperation with Ecuador and promote small hydropower projects and other clean energy projects.

During the stay in Cuba, CCTT signed a letter of intent cooperation with the University of Havana and inaugurated the first overseas innovation cooperation center, “China-LAC-Cuba Innovation Cooperation Center”.

CLTTC, together with the University of Havana, Havana University of Science and Technology, Havana University of Information Technology and related enterprises, participated in the China-Cuba University-Enterprise Cooperation and Exchange Meeting, and visited Armando Rodríguez Batista, Vice Minister of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, and Santiago Duenas Carrera, Director of the Center for Science and Innovation of the Cuban Group of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries. They discussed the details of promoting the docking of scientific and technological resources and project cooperation between China and Cuba, focusing on photovoltaic energy, agricultural production and biotechnology to carry out scientific and technological innovation cooperation .

This visit is an important initiative to implement the instruction of building a high-standard and high-quality China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, which further clarifies the direction for improving the technology transfer network and promoting the cooperation in science and technology innovation between China and Latin America to a new level.
