In recent years, Dongguan has successfully created a national innovative city. Songshan Lake Science City is included in the early launch area of the National Science Center of the Greater Bay Area, with large scientific devices such as the Scattered Neutron Source and the advanced attosecond laser; research universities such as the University of the Greater Bay Area, the City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) and the Dongguan Institute of Technology have ushered in the accelerated construction of the University of the Greater Bay Area; and several leading science and technology enterprises, such as Huawei, OPPO, Vivo, and SangYi Technology, are gathered in the area, forming a good innovation ecosystem. In June last year, the China-Latin America Technology Transfer Center was inaugurated in Songshan Lake Science City, and it has become the only national transnational technology transfer institution for Latin American and Caribbean countries.
