该技术为水力旋流器预先分级+螺旋溜槽粗选+摇床精选+磁选机提高铬铁比的重磁联合流程，在除铬同时产出商品级铬铁矿，解决了国外红土矿常用除铬工艺不能产出合格商品级铬铁矿的难题。复杂难选红土镍矿选矿技术在工程运行过程中能保持稳定，对环境、技术参数等的干扰的敏感程度不强。
